The SUPREME COURT SHOULD NOT GIVE SANCTION FOR THE ABROGATION OF THE PLACES OF WORSHIP ACT, 1991, passed by the former PM PVNRAO in the interest of prevention of intercommunal riots and damage of national property. Some Intellectuals of India had requested the return of only three Masjids built by the Mughals over the sites of the old temples of Rama at the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, the Gyanvapi KashiVishwanathTemple at Varanasi and the Krishna temple at Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura. Accordingly, the Babri masjid was demolished during the Prime Ministership PV Narasimha Rao himself, and the reconstruction of the Ram Temple is in progress now. As to destroying the Gyanvapi Masjid at VARANASI and rebuilding the old temple, the eminent scholar on Hindu religion, Lakshmi Bayi Nalapat has opined that all that needs to be done is to get the old Shivling from the Gyanvapi Masjid premises and install it after reconsecration on the side of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple built in 1779 by the Indore Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar by the side of the Masjid, where visitors would have to offer prayers before entering the existing temple,so There’s No need to build separate temple. At the most, the side of the Shringar Gauri should be made available to the Hindus for prayers. For offering Puja to the Shringar Gauri, that wing of the mosque has been cordoned off by the SC already. Still there is some justification for extension of the Krishna temple at MATHURA, as Krishna is पूर्णावतार – complete manifestation of Vishnu.. Hold over these three temples should be enough. Otherwise hostility against Hindus will increase if the SC keeps on catering to the demands of a prominent group of radical Hindus and there will be more exodus of Hindus from Islamic countries! As to the Hindus’ Grouse ABOUT THE MUGHALS HAVING DESTROYED OUR OLD TEMPLES, DID THE ANCIENT HINDUS NOT DESTROY THE TEMPLES OF OTHER INDIAN FAITHS, viz. Jainism, Buddhism, Shakti Temples, and those of the Aboriginal Tribes of India? It is the Good Sense and Peaceful nature of those religious groups that they are not staking similar claim for restoration of their temples. For it was reported during the excavation by Archeological Survey of India(ASI) under Babri Masjid in 2003 that some items found therein were relics of Jain/ Buddhist pillars as judged by their typical architecture! What about that?
